Deborah is the daughter of a school teacher and pastor. Born in Brooklyn, New York, her earliest inspiration was derived from her mother’s eloquence and her father’s fiery sermons and humanity for those less fortunate. She came to the City of Philadelphia in 1982 to pursue her undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania. While at the University of Pennsylvania, she studied Sociology and the implications of crime and delinquency in the urban community. Deborah was profoundly affected by the 1985 MOVE bombing in Philadelphia that left 11 dead on Osage Avenue. This solidified her desire to work in public service towards a more fair and inclusive judicial system.
While attending Michigan Law, Deborah spent considerable time interpreting the Racketeer Influenced and Organized Crime Control Act and authored a critical essay on the legal implications of this statute.
At F&E we care about the result.
